Burnside library : ウィキペディア英語版 | Burnside library
The Burnside Library is located on the corner of Greenhill and Portrush Roads and is part of the Burnside Civic Centre. The library was one of the first public libraries in South Australia, opening its doors to the public on 8 April 1961.〔(Burnside Library )〕 In 2000, the library and the civic centre underwent a major renovation. This has served to make the library a bright, open and attractive space for the community. As with other public libraries, Burnside Library has changed dramatically over the years. it has 26 computers, free wireless access, and over 6,000 DVDs available to the public. It has more than 1,000 visitors a day and approximately 65% of all residents are registered borrowers. The library collection contains more 135,000 across 2,200 square metres of floor space. In 2008 there were 870,000 item loans. The library provides language classes, genealogy classes, computer classes, author talks, library tours, youth activities, storytime, babychat and other programs. The library has a presence on popular social networking sites available to the public such as Facebook, Twitter and Blyty.〔(Burnside Library on Facebook ); (Burnside Library on Twitter ); (Burnside Library on Blyty )〕 The library is open seven days a week, from 9.30am-6pm on weekdays, except Thursday when it closes at 9pm, and on the weekend from 10am-4pm on Saturday and 2pm-5pm on Sunday. == Burnside libraries history==
